Electrician Windsor
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Windsor homes, day or night
A switchboard that trips whenever the oven and heater run together needs an electrician in Windsor who finds the cause. Our electrician Windsor team takes calls at any hour.
We price every job before work starts, and the price is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ, so we quote your visit before we begin.
What electrical problems come up in Windsor homes?
The 2021 Census counted 557 separate houses among Windsor’s 722 occupied homes. Each house has its own switchboard.
The switchboard is the panel where power splits into circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a split second when current leaks to earth. When one keeps tripping, fault tracing for repeat trips finds the circuit behind it. We don’t just reset it.
Some boards still hold ceramic fuses, or have no safety switch on the lighting and power circuits. Both need a look before a new circuit goes on. A switchboard replacement is quoted as a fixed job.
Signs your board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again within minutes of a reset
- Lights that flicker or dim when a heater starts
- A warm panel, a crackle or a burnt smell at the board
- Ceramic fuses where breakers should be
Electrician Windsor: cooling, lights and appliances
A reverse cycle air conditioner or an induction cooktop runs on a circuit of its own. An older board may need work first. We handle oven and cooktop fitting from the board to the appliance.
Old halogen downlights run hot and draw more power than LEDs. Swap them for LED lighting upgrades to cut the load on the circuit. A new ceiling fan needs a secure fixing and a circuit to run it.
Outdoor lights and power points need weatherproof fittings and a safety switch. An EV charger needs its own circuit and a board with room for it. We also fit smoke alarms in Windsor homes.
Emergency electrician Windsor: any hour, day or night
No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we agree the price before work starts. Here’s how our emergency electrician callouts work.
While you wait:
- Check whether the neighbours have power.
- Look at your board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug the appliance that was running.
- Treat any fallen line as live and keep well back.
If Endeavour Energy supplies your home, it says to stay at least eight metres clear of a fallen or damaged powerline. Phone 131 003 straight away. We can look at the wiring on your side once supply is back.
Say Endeavour Energy supplies your home and finds a defect on private equipment. It says a repair that disconnects your power at the point of supply needs a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider. That’s an electrician approved to work on the network side, such as service lines and points of attachment. We hold that accreditation (number 5559).

Do I get a certificate for electrical work in Windsor?
Yes, for electrical work. NSW says electricians must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work whenever electrical work is undertaken. The person who tests the work submits it, no later than seven days after the test.
From 1 July 2026 it has to go through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal. A copy can go to the customer’s email where it’s provided. Keep it with the paperwork for the house.

Windsor homes in the 2021 Census
Source: ABS Census QuickStats. The ABS makes small random changes to figures for privacy.
That’s 300 rented homes among 722 occupied ones. In any of them, the wiring behind the board is a job for a licensed electrician. These are 2021 Census figures, so they’re a snapshot, not today’s count.
If Endeavour Energy supplies your home, its flood safety page says many areas across its network are subject to flooding. When a flood warning is issued, it says to move portable appliances and electrical pump motors well above the estimated flood height where possible. It also says to switch off non-essential circuits before they’re submerged.
Electrician Windsor: when the river rises
| Situation | What Endeavour Energy says | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| A flood warning is out | Switch off the electricity to all non-essential circuits before they’re submerged. | Move portable appliances and pump motors well above the expected flood height. |
| You’re evacuating | Switch off all appliances and remove switch fuses at the main switchboard or meter box. | Do this even if you’ve been told power is off in your area. |
| A powerline is down | Stay at least eight metres clear and phone 131 003. | Treat the line as live. |
| Power was disconnected after a flood | The owner engages a licensed electrician to inspect and repair the internal wiring. | Phone 131 003 once the home is safe to reconnect. |
If Endeavour Energy supplies your home, it says the electrician logs a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work with it. That happens once repairs and inspections are done. That’s a job for a licensed electrician, and we’re one.
Hawkesbury City Council says the Thompson Square conservation area is listed on the NSW State Heritage Register and in the Hawkesbury Local Environmental Plan 2012. If your building is in that area, ask the council what applies before you plan work.
If Endeavour Energy supplies your home, it says existing hardware at the point of supply, such as insulators and brackets, is the property owner’s responsibility. It also says you’re responsible for maintaining vegetation near powerlines on your property. It advises keeping a three metre clearance from powerlines.

Electrician Windsor FAQs
The price depends on the job, and we quote it before any work starts. Once you approve it, it’s fixed. Quotes are free, and evening and weekend rates differ.
No call-out fee applies when the booking is for the following day or later. For urgent visits, we quote the price first and agree it before work starts.
If you’re evacuating, switch off all appliances and remove the switch fuses at the main switchboard or meter box. Do this even if power has been cut in your area. If Endeavour Energy supplies your home and your power has been disconnected, it says the owner needs a licensed electrician to check and repair the internal wiring.
It’s cutting power because current is leaking to earth. A faulty appliance, a damaged cable or a wet fitting can cause it. We trace the circuit behind the trip instead of just resetting it.
Endeavour Energy does, if it supplies your home. Stay at least eight metres clear and phone 131 003 straight away. Once supply is back, we can look at the wiring on your side.
