If Ausgrid supplies your home, its page says to stay at least 8 metres away from fallen wires or powerlines. That’s about two car lengths.
If Ausgrid is your network, it lists 13 13 88 for electrical faults and emergencies, open 24 hours. Call 000 first if there’s a life threatening situation. Ausgrid also says fallen trees and vegetation around damaged network equipment can hide electrical hazards.
Where Ausgrid is your network, it says a Level 2 provider can install, repair or maintain service lines. These are the overhead or underground lines between a customer installation and its network. We’re a Level 2 accredited service provider, number 5559.

Will I get a certificate for electrical work in Miranda?
Yes. NSW says the person who carries out the electrical test must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. That’s as soon as practical, and no later than seven days after the test. From 1 July 2026 it goes through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal.
The old PDF and paper forms are no longer accepted. A copy can go to the customer’s email when the electrician provides it. Keep it with your home records.
