Electrician Enmore
Faults, switchboards, lighting and smoke alarms, fixed by licensed local electricians who quote the price first.
Licensed electricians for Enmore homes and units
A board that trips every night or a power point that has gone dead needs a licensed electrician in Enmore. Our electrician Enmore team is on call at any hour for faults, switchboards, lighting and smoke alarms.
Each job gets a price before work starts, and the price holds once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so we quote the price for your visit first.
What electrical faults come up in Enmore homes?
The signs of a struggling switchboard look the same in a terrace and in a flat. A switchboard is the panel that splits the incoming power into circuits. It holds the circuit breakers and safety switches.
A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a fraction of a second when current leaks to earth. If your board still has ceramic fuses, or no safety switches on the lighting and power circuits, ask for a check. Our switchboard upgrade work is priced as a fixed job.
Resetting a tripped switch again and again doesn’t fix it. We trace the circuit and the cause of the fault instead.
Signs your switchboard needs a look
- A safety switch that trips again after you reset it
- Lights that dim when a big appliance starts
- A board that feels warm or smells of burning
- Ceramic fuses, or no safety switches at all
Lighting, fans and appliances in Enmore homes
Old halogen downlights draw more power than LEDs. Swapping them for LED downlights cuts the load on the circuit. A new ceiling fan needs a secure fixing and a circuit that can run it.
An oven, an induction cooktop or an air conditioner usually needs a circuit of its own. We handle appliance installation from the board to the appliance.
Apartments add a question: whose light is it? For strata buildings, NSW Government says that in most cases the owner looks after lights that hang into the property. The owners corporation looks after lights recessed into the ceiling and lights on common property.
Emergency electrician Enmore: any hour, day or night
No power, a burning smell or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and agree the price before any work starts. See how our emergency electrical callouts work.
- Check whether the neighbours have power too.
- Look at your board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug the appliance that was running.
- Treat any fallen wire as live and stay well back.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its fallen powerlines page says to stay at least 8 metres, or 2 car lengths, from fallen wires. It also says to report faults and emergencies on 13 13 88, which is open 24 hours. In a life threatening situation, call triple zero first.
Not sure who supplies your street? Ausgrid’s network area check asks for your postcode.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its installation page says a Level 2 accredited service provider can install, repair or maintain the service lines between your installation and its network. We hold that accreditation (number 5559).

Do I get a compliance certificate for electrical work in Enmore?
Yes, for electrical wiring work. NSW Government says the person who tests the work submits the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work to Building Commission NSW. That must happen no later than seven days after the test.
From 1 July 2026 it goes through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal, and paper and PDF forms are no longer accepted. The customer is emailed a copy when their email address is added.
Inner West Council publishes heritage conservation area statements for areas in Enmore, such as King Street/Enmore Road and Llewellyn Estate (Enmore). If your home is on a site with heritage significance, council says works that alter external or internal built elements need consent. Contact its Duty Planning Service before you start to ask whether consent is required.

If your flat is part of a strata scheme, check your strata plan and by-laws when you can’t tell who looks after a fault. The census counts above are a 2021 snapshot, not today’s total.
A rented home has its own rules. NSW Government says landlords must keep smoke alarms working. They must use a licensed electrician to repair or replace a hard-wired smoke alarm. The page lists exceptions for strata schemes.
