Level 2 electrical work across the Blue Mountains

Plenty of electrical problems up here are not inside the house at all. They sit between the street and the meter, which is work most electricians are not licensed to touch.

Our Level 2 accredited electricians can work on the network side of your supply, under Level 2 accreditation number 5559. That covers connecting and disconnecting power, repairing overhead and underground service lines, replacing private power poles, and metering work. Across the Mountains this comes up more than it does closer to the city, because more properties are fed by overhead lines running across bush blocks.

Private power poles are the other thing to know about. If your supply runs from the street across your own land, that pole is your responsibility to maintain rather than the network operator’s. Rot at the base is common on older timber poles in wet, shaded positions, and it is not something you want to find out about during a storm.
