Electrician Springwood
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, smoke alarms and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
Local electricians for Springwood homes, at any hour
A dead power point, a flickering light or a board that smells hot is a job for a licensed electrician in Springwood. Our electrician Springwood team takes calls day and night.
Every job is priced before work starts, and the price stays fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend work is priced differently from daytime work, so you hear the figure for your visit first.
What electrical problems come up in Springwood homes?
Springwood’s 3,286 occupied homes include 2,694 separate houses, according to the 2021 Census. If you own a separate house, the board and the wiring behind the walls are yours to look after.
A switchboard is the panel that splits incoming power into circuits and holds the breakers. A safety switch is a device that cuts power within a fraction of a second when electricity escapes to earth, for example through a person. A board with breakers but no safety switches protects against overload, not against shock. Our switchboard upgrade work is priced as a fixed job.
You can’t tell a board’s age from the street, so look at the board itself. A safety switch that keeps tripping points to a fault on one of the circuits. Next comes finding why power trips, which means identifying the circuit and the cause. Resetting the switch and hoping isn’t a fix.
Signs your board needs attention
- Ceramic fuses or fuse wire where breakers should be
- A switch that trips again soon after you reset it
- A board that buzzes, feels hot or smells burnt
- Lights that dim whenever a large appliance starts
Heating, lighting and appliances in Springwood homes
Large heating loads call for a circuit of their own. A reverse cycle unit shouldn’t share a circuit with the power points. A bank of panel heaters on one circuit can overload it.
A new cooktop or wall oven starts at the board. We confirm the appliance rating before we quote, because the circuit has to match it.
Swapping old halogen downlights for LEDs cuts the load on the lighting circuit. A garden or deck can be lit safely too, as long as outdoor fittings are weatherproof and the circuit has a safety switch.
Emergency electrician Springwood, any hour of the day
No power, sparks or a burning smell can’t wait for morning. Call 1300 164 206 at any hour and a licensed electrician answers. Evening and weekend rates differ, and the price is agreed before work starts. Our page on urgent electrical faults explains a callout.
While you wait:
- Check whether your neighbours have power.
- Check the board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug heaters and anything that was running when the power went.
- Keep clear of anything that smells hot or looks scorched.
If you see a fallen powerline, stay at least 8 metres back, treat it as live and phone Endeavour Energy on 131 003. Endeavour takes reports of power outages on that number too.
Endeavour Energy says that where a defect repair involves disconnecting power at the point of supply, the electrician must be a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider. We hold that accreditation, number 5559.

Does electrical work in Springwood come with a certificate?
Yes, for work that needs one. The person who tests the work submits a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work to Building Commission NSW. That must happen no later than seven days after the test. Since 1 July 2026 it has to go through the eCert portal, and paper and PDF forms are no longer accepted.
The portal sends a copy to the customer’s email address when the electrician adds it to the certificate. Keep your copy with your house records.

Springwood homes in the 2021 Census
Source: ABS Census QuickStats. The ABS makes small random changes to figures for privacy.
The 2021 Census counted 566 rented homes in Springwood. For rentals, the NSW Government says landlords must make sure smoke alarms, including heat alarms, are working. They can’t hand that duty to the tenant in the tenancy agreement, and an alarm that needs a new battery counts as not working. Our smoke alarm service page covers the alarms themselves.
Electrician Springwood: whose job is it?
| Situation | Responsible | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| A fallen line or an outage in the street | Endeavour Energy | Call 131 003 and stay at least 8 metres back. |
| Smoke alarms in a rental | The landlord, who must keep them working | Tenants must tell the landlord if an alarm stops working. |
| Insulators and brackets at the point of supply | The property owner | A defect repair that disconnects power there needs a Level 2 provider. |
| Trees close to a private powerline | The property owner | Keep a three metre clearance and consider a professional tree trimmer. |
Endeavour says that if you have private powerlines, you’re responsible for keeping trees a safe distance away. If it finds a tree or branch too close, it will tell you in writing. If a branch is touching a line, leave it alone and keep clear. Your power may be disconnected if the work isn’t done.
We also cover smaller places such as Bell and Mount Wilson.
