A licensed plumber for Glenbrook homes, day or night
When a tap won’t stop running or a drain backs up in Glenbrook, our licensed plumber Glenbrook team takes your call at any hour. We look after homes across Glenbrook.
We price every job before we start, and the price holds once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so you’ll hear the figure first.
What goes wrong with plumbing in Glenbrook homes?
Most Glenbrook homes are separate houses. The 2021 Census counted 1,692 separate houses among 1,792 occupied homes, and each one has its own plumbing to look after.
Slow and blocked drains
A gurgling sink or a shower that drains slowly points to a partial blockage. We can look down the line first, then talk you through clearing the drain or repairing the pipe.
Dripping taps and hidden leaks
A running meter with every tap shut means water is escaping somewhere. We use leak tracing before digging to find the spot.
Hot water that goes cold
A hot water unit that runs out early or goes cold can have a failed part or be near the end of its life. Our hot water repair team tells you if a repair or a swap makes more sense.
Toilets that keep running
A cistern that refills every few minutes wastes water and lifts the bill. A worn valve or seal is often the cause.
Who owns which pipes in Glenbrook?
Sydney Water says the property owner is normally responsible for private drinking water and wastewater pipes up to where they connect to its services. A fault on your side of that point is yours to fix, and it takes a licensed plumber. Sydney Water explains the split in its pipe ownership guide.
Emergency plumber Glenbrook: any hour, day or night
A burst pipe or a flooding toilet won’t wait for morning. Call 1300 164 206 and a licensed plumber answers, whatever the hour. Our emergency plumbing crews quote the price before starting, and evening and weekend rates differ.
Learn where your main tap is before anything goes wrong. Tell everyone at home, so the water can be shut off in seconds.
- Shut the water off at the main tap.
- Turn off the power at the switchboard if water has reached power points.
- Run the lowest tap to empty the pipes.
- Move rugs and electronics out of the wet area, then call us.
Gas and hot water work for Glenbrook homes
Moving a gas heater, swapping a cooktop or adding a bayonet is work for a licensed gasfitter. The connection gets tested before anyone uses it. We cover gas connections and appliance swaps on mains gas and bottled LPG.
If you build or develop on bush fire prone land, the NSW Rural Fire Service says above-ground water and gas pipes need to be metal. It also says the home needs a water supply for firefighting, like a tank, pool or dam.
If you smell gas, leave the house and keep clear of light switches and appliances. Call us from outside, at any hour.

Do I need approval for plumbing work in Glenbrook?
A plumber submits a Notice of Work to Building Commission NSW before starting work that needs an inspection in the Blue Mountains. NSW says emergency work and minor jobs, such as replacing tap ware or an existing hot water system, don’t need one.
A Certificate of Compliance confirms that the work complies with the plumbing regulations and the Plumbing Code of Australia. NSW says the plumber must give a copy to the person who arranged the work. The RFS says local councils prepare bush fire prone land maps and the status should also be noted on a property’s Section 10.7 planning certificate, which comes from the council. Check it before a large renovation.
Plumbing in a foothill village of separate houses
Blue Mountains City Council’s own guide describes Glenbrook and Lapstone as villages at the foot of the Blue Mountains, and the council library lists Glenbrook among the Blue Mountains town names. National Parks says the Glenbrook area is the eastern gateway to Blue Mountains National Park from Sydney.

Of 1,792 occupied homes, 1,692 are separate houses and 227 are rented. Sydney Water names the property owner as normally responsible for the private pipes, so in a rental that is the owner, not the tenant.
