Licensed plumbers for Cremorne flats, terraces and houses

When water drips through a bathroom ceiling or the hot water runs cold, call a licensed plumber in Cremorne. Our plumber Cremorne team answers calls at any hour, for flats, terraces and freestanding houses.

Each job gets a price before we start, and the price holds once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, and we quote the price first.

What plumbing goes wrong in Cremorne’s apartments and houses?

Two Aussie Home Services plumbers working under a kitchen sink

The 2021 Census counted 3,658 flats or apartments among Cremorne’s 5,124 occupied homes. Flats, terraces and houses all run into the same four jobs.

Drains that gurgle or back up

A slow floor waste, or a toilet that gurgles when the washing machine runs, points to a blocked line. A camera inspection tells us whether a clean will hold, and our blocked drain service covers the repair too.

Leaks you can’t see

A water bill that climbs with nothing changed, or a stain spreading across a ceiling, can mean a leak inside a wall. We trace it with non-invasive leak detection before anything is opened up.

Hot water that runs out

A unit that goes cold mid-shower needs a repair or a replacement. Our hot water system repairs cover gas and electric units, and we tell you when replacement makes more sense.

Taps and toilets that won’t settle

A tap that drips overnight or a cistern that refills by itself wastes water every hour. Check the tap washer and the cistern’s float valve first.

Who looks after which pipes in a Cremorne block?

NSW says strata owners repair anything within their property. In most cases that includes plumbing in internal walls and fixtures, such as baths, toilets, sinks and showers. The owners corporation looks after plumbing in boundary walls and under the floor.

Outside the building, Sydney Water says the property owner is normally responsible for private pipes up to where they connect to its services. Its pipe ownership guide shows where the line falls.

Emergency plumber Cremorne: any hour, day or night

A burst flexi hose at midnight can’t wait for opening hours. Neither can a toilet that overflows on a Sunday. Call 1300 164 206 and a licensed plumber answers. Evening and weekend rates differ, and you get the price before we start.

Find your shut-off valve before you need it. In a block of units, ask your strata manager whether your lot has its own.

  • Turn the water off at the shut-off valve or the main tap.
  • Switch off the power at the switchboard if water has reached power points or lights.
  • Open the lowest tap to drain the pipes and ease the pressure.
  • If water is coming through to a neighbour’s unit, tell your strata manager, then call us.

If sewage overflows, Sydney Water asks you to report it on its faults line, 13 20 90, open 24 hours.

Gas fitting and hot water for Cremorne units and homes

Gas pipework and valves mounted on a brick wall

Moving a gas heater, swapping a cooktop or adding a bayonet point is licensed gasfitting work. Our licensed gas fitting service covers new connections, appliance swaps and pressure testing.

A storage hot water unit keeps a tank of heated water ready. An instantaneous unit heats water as it flows through. Both come in gas and electric versions.

If you can’t tell who should repair something in your building, NSW says to check your strata plan and by-laws. If you smell gas, get everyone outside, don’t touch switches or appliances, and call us from outside at any hour.

Licensed plumbers with a family business behind them

Aussie Home Services is family owned and has worked across Sydney since 2009. Our plumber Cremorne crew works under NSW contractor licence 273594C, which covers plumbing, gasfitting and draining, and we’re fully insured.

You get a fixed price before any work begins, and we stop and talk first if something changes the job. No call-out fee applies when the booking is for the following day or later. Our Lifetime Labour Guarantee covers labour if our workmanship causes a failure and the work is defective. Parts aren’t covered.

What paperwork comes with plumbing work in Cremorne?

A plumber submits a Notice of Work before starting any job that needs an inspection. It’s a form that sets out the plumbing and drainage work and who is doing it. NSW lists emergency work and minor works, like replacing tap ware, as cases where one isn’t needed.

A Certificate of Compliance confirms the finished work complies with the plumbing regulations and the Plumbing Code of Australia. Ask for your copy and keep it with the property papers.

Plumbing in a suburb where most homes are flats

The NSW Electoral Commission lists Cremorne among 14 localities in the North Sydney Council area. In a flat, the first question after a leak is whose pipe it is.

Cremorne homes in the 2021 Census

3,658
flats or apartments, 71.4% of 5,124 occupied homes
2,302
homes rented (44.9%)
1,524
homes owned outright (29.7%)
611
unoccupied private dwellings (10.6%)

Source: ABS Census QuickStats. The ABS makes small random changes to figures for privacy.

Flats and apartments far outnumber the 876 separate houses and 574 semi-detached, row or terrace homes. In a strata building, who repairs a leak depends on where the pipe sits. A rented home still has an owner, and NSW says tenants should ask their landlord about common property repairs.

notified me 25 min before arrival. Saw what we needed, showed me an estimate, proceeded with replacing a module in a ceiling fan. Found dodgy work done by the original installer! Done correctly now! Fit me in the day after calling. Happy as a clam I am.
