Electrician Kincumber
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Kincumber homes, any hour
A switchboard that trips whenever the oven and heater run together needs a licensed electrician in Kincumber. Our electrician Kincumber team takes calls at any hour.
We price every job before work starts, and the figure is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ, so we quote your visit before we begin.
Which electrical faults come up in Kincumber homes?
Most faults trace back to the switchboard, the panel that splits the incoming power into circuits. It holds the circuit breakers and, in a newer board, the safety switches. A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a fraction of a second when current leaks to earth.
Some boards still have ceramic fuses, or no safety switch on the lighting and power circuits. Either one needs a proper look before we add a new circuit. A switchboard repair is quoted as a fixed job.
When a safety switch trips again after a reset, tracing the fault finds the circuit and the cause. Resetting it doesn’t fix the problem. A surge protection device limits the voltage spike that reaches your fridge, and we fit them at the board.
Signs your board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again within minutes of a reset
- Lights that flicker or dim when the oven or heater starts
- A warm panel, a crackle or a burnt smell at the board
- Ceramic fuses where breakers should be
Electrician Kincumber: heating, cooling, lights and chargers
A reverse cycle air conditioner or an induction cooktop runs on a circuit of its own. If the board is full, it needs work before the appliance goes in. We handle oven and cooktop fitting from the board to the appliance.
Old halogen downlights run hot and draw more power than LEDs. Swapping them for LED downlights cuts the load on the circuit. A new ceiling fan needs a secure fixing and a circuit that can run it.
Decks and gardens need weatherproof fittings, with a safety switch on the circuit. We install home EV chargers and smoke alarms too.
Emergency electrician Kincumber: any hour, day or night
No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and agree the price with you before any work starts. Here is how our urgent electrical callouts work.
- Check the street. If the neighbours’ lights are off, report it to your network.
- If only your home is dark, check the board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug the appliance that was running when the power went.
- Keep well clear of any fallen wire.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its page says to stay at least 8 metres, or 2 car lengths, away from fallen wires. It says to report electrical faults and emergencies on 13 13 88, 24 hours a day. For a life-threatening situation, call 000.
A Level 2 accredited service provider is an electrician approved to work on the network side of the supply. If Ausgrid supplies your home, its page says a Level 2 provider can install, repair or maintain service lines. Those are the overhead or underground lines between a customer installation and its network. We’re a Level 2 accredited service provider (number 5559).

Do I get a certificate after electrical work in Kincumber?
Yes. NSW says electricians must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work whenever electrical work is undertaken. The person who tests the work submits it to Building Commission NSW, no later than seven days after the test. From 1 July 2026 it has to go through the BCNSW eCert portal.
The customer’s copy goes out by email when the electrician adds the customer’s email address in the portal. Keep it with the paperwork for the house.
Electrician Kincumber: the council, the network and the homes
The NSW Electoral Commission lists Kincumber among the localities that are partially or wholly in Central Coast Council. Which network supplies you depends on your address. Ausgrid’s postcode checker shows which distributor supplies your street, so check it before you phone a network.
Kincumber homes in the 2021 Census
Source: ABS Census QuickStats. The ABS makes small random changes to figures for privacy.
Separate houses and townhouses make up most of the 2,938 occupied homes, and only 127 are flats or apartments. Those figures are from the 2021 Census, so they’re a snapshot, not today’s count. In every one of those homes, a new circuit starts at the switchboard.
Electrician Kincumber: who do you call?
| What you see | Who to call | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| The whole street is dark | Your network, Ausgrid on 13 13 88 if it supplies you | Report it and check your neighbours’ lights. |
| Only your home has lost power | Us | Look for a tripped safety switch or main switch. |
| A powerline is down | Ausgrid on 13 13 88 if it supplies you, or 000 if someone is hurt | Stay at least 8 metres away. |
| A burnt smell comes from the board | Us, straight away | Switch off what you can safely and keep clear. |
Part of the connection is yours. If Ausgrid supplies you, it says property owners maintain the private poles and powerlines from the first point of connection to the switchboard or meter. That first point can be a private pole or a point of attachment. In most circumstances, it says owners are also responsible for safe clearances between private electrical assets and vegetation on their property.
Our electricians also work in Erina, Terrigal, Springfield and Woy Woy. See the other suburbs our Central Coast electricians cover.
