Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
Licensed electricians for Narara homes, any hour
A board that trips every night is a job for an electrician in Narara. Our licensed team takes calls at any hour.
We price every job before work starts, and the figure is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ, so we quote the visit first. Every electrician Narara call starts with that price.
What electrical faults do Narara homes run into?
The 2021 Census counted 2,605 separate houses among Narara’s 2,980 occupied homes. Most jobs here start at a single house and its own switchboard.
The switchboard is the panel that splits incoming power into circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a split second when current leaks to earth. If one keeps tripping, fault tracing for repeat trips finds the circuit behind it, so we’re not just resetting it.
An old board with ceramic fuses, or no safety switch on the power and lighting circuits, needs a closer look before anything new goes on it. A switchboard repair is quoted as a fixed job.
A fault that comes and goes is harder to find than one that stays. Tell us when it happens and what was running. That helps us find it.
Signs your board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again soon after a reset
- Lights that dim when the oven or a heater starts
- A warm panel, a crackle or a burnt smell at the board
- Ceramic fuses where breakers should be
Heating, cooling, lighting and chargers for Narara homes
A reverse cycle air conditioner or an induction cooktop usually runs on its own circuit. If the board is full or old, it needs work first. We fit ovens and cooktops from the board to the appliance.
Old halogen downlights draw more power than LEDs. Swapping to LED lighting eases the load. A new ceiling fan needs a firm fixing and a circuit that can run it.
We also install home EV chargers and fit surge protection at the board. A surge protection device limits a voltage spike before it reaches your appliances. We handle smoke alarm installation too.
Emergency electrician Narara: any hour, day or night
No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We quote the price before work starts. Here’s how our emergency callouts run.
- Check whether your neighbours have power.
- Look at the board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug the heater or appliance that was running.
- Treat any fallen wire as live and keep well back.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its page says to stay at least 8 metres, or 2 car lengths, away from fallen wires or powerlines. It says to report faults and emergencies on 13 13 88, and to call triple zero (000) if someone’s life is at risk.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its page says a Level 2 accredited service provider can install, repair or maintain service lines. Those are the overhead or underground lines between a customer installation and its network. We hold that accreditation (number 5559). After a defect notice, it says to engage the original contractor, or a licensed ASP Level 2 if you can’t reach them.

Do I get a certificate for electrical work in Narara?
Yes. NSW says the tester submits the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work to Building Commission NSW. That must happen within seven days of the test. From 1 July 2026 it goes through the portal. Handwritten or PDF forms aren’t accepted.
If the electrician enters your email address in the portal, the system sends you a copy when the certificate is lodged. Keep it with your house records.
Electrician Narara: Ausgrid, council and the homes here
The NSW Electoral Commission lists Narara among the localities that are partially or wholly in Central Coast Council. Which network supplies you depends on your address, and Ausgrid’s postcode checker shows which distributor supplies your street.
Narara homes in the 2021 Census

Only 23 occupied homes are flats or apartments. If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says all work from the first point of connection on the property is the customer’s electrical installation. The customer is responsible for keeping it safe and properly maintained. These figures are a 2021 snapshot.
Electrician Narara: who looks after what
| What you see | Who to call | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| A powerline is down | Ausgrid on 13 13 88, if it supplies you | Stay at least 8 metres away and treat it as live. |
| A connection point or service wire on your property needs repair | A licensed electrician, which can be us | If Ausgrid supplies you, it says the owner keeps connection points safe. |
| Your own tree is hitting your service wire | You, up to your boundary, if Ausgrid supplies you | Within three metres of its powerlines, only accredited workers may trim. |
| A burnt smell comes from the board | Us, straight away | Switch off what you can and keep clear. |
Trees matter too. If Ausgrid supplies you and your tree is hitting your service wire, it says you clear the growth up to your boundary. It clears vegetation on Council land. It lists its clearances as 0.5 to 6 metres, depending on species, location and bushfire risk.
Other suburbs we cover include Wyong, Tuggerah, Erina and Kincumber. Our electricians in the Central Coast cover the rest of the region too.
