Electrician Wyong
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Wyong homes, day or night
A board that keeps tripping, a power point that’s gone dead or lights that flicker call for a licensed electrician in Wyong. Our electrician Wyong team answers calls at any hour.
Every job is priced before work starts, and the price holds once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so you hear the price for your visit first.
What electrical faults do Wyong homes run into?
A switchboard is the panel that splits the incoming power into circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a fraction of a second when current leaks to earth, which can happen through a person.
A board with no safety switch on the lighting and power circuits is worth upgrading. Our switchboard upgrade work is priced as a fixed job, and the new board leaves room for the loads you add later.
When a safety switch trips again after you reset it, something on that circuit is leaking. We use methodical fault tracing to find the circuit and the cause, rather than resetting and hoping.
Signs your board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again straight after you reset it
- Lights that dim when the kettle or heater starts
- A switchboard that feels warm or smells of burning
- Ceramic fuses, or no safety switches at all
If you spot one of these, switch off what you were using and call us.
Lighting, fans and appliance circuits for Wyong homes
Swapping old halogen downlights for LED lighting upgrades cuts the running cost.
A new cooktop or wall oven can need its own circuit, and an older board might not have the room. We handle oven and cooktop installation from the board to the benchtop. We confirm the appliance’s rating before we quote.
We also handle ceiling fan installation for living rooms and bedrooms.
We install and replace smoke alarms, including hard-wired ones. See our smoke alarm installation page.
An EV charger is a heavy load that runs for hours on one circuit. Our EV charger installation starts with the switchboard, because an older board may not have the room for it.

Do I get a compliance certificate for electrical work in Wyong?
Yes, for electrical work that has been tested. NSW says the person who carries out the test must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work to Building Commission NSW as soon as practical, and no later than seven days after the test. From 1 July 2026 it must go through the BCNSW eCert portal, and handwritten and PDF forms are no longer accepted.
When the electrician adds your email address in the portal, the system automatically sends you a copy. The NSW electrical compliance page has the rules.
Electrical work in Wyong’s houses, townhouses and flats
The NSW Electoral Commission lists Wyong among the localities that Central Coast Council includes partially or wholly. The 2021 Census counted 1,874 occupied homes here.

In 2021, 751 homes were rented (40.1%). In a rental, NSW says the landlord must make sure smoke alarms are working, and must use a licensed electrician to repair or replace a hard-wired one.
Strata owners have a different split. NSW strata repair rules list lights that hang into your property as the owner’s job. Lights on common property and any recessed into the ceiling belong to the owners corporation. Owners should ask their strata manager or strata committee about common property repairs.
Electrician Wyong: what’s on your switchboard?
| On the board | What it covers | Next step |
|---|---|---|

| Circuit breakers, no safety switch | Overload and short circuits. | Add a safety switch to the lighting and power circuits. |
| Circuit breakers and safety switches | Overload, short circuits and current leaking to earth. | Test the switches before a new heavy load goes on. |
