A licensed plumber for Wyong homes, day or night
A blocked sink, a burst pipe or a hot water unit that’s gone cold needs a licensed plumber in Wyong. Our plumber Wyong team takes calls at any hour.
Each job gets a price before we start, and that price holds once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, and we quote the price first.
What plumbing jobs come up most in Wyong homes?
These are four plumbing jobs that come up in Wyong homes.
Slow and blocked drains
Council lists tree roots, oils and fats, and flushable wipes among the common causes of sewer blockages. A camera shows whether drain clearing will hold or the pipe needs repair.
Leaks you can’t see
A water bill that climbs or a meter that keeps moving with every tap off points to a pipe leaking out of sight. We use leak detection for hidden pipes before anything is opened up.
Hot water that gives out
A unit that runs cold halfway through a shower needs a repair or a replacement. We handle hot water repairs and tell you when replacing the unit makes more sense.
Stormwater going the wrong way
Council says owners generally need to drain roof water to its kerb and gutter, an inter-allotment drainage system or a council drainage easement or reserve. We do stormwater drainage work on private property.
Who looks after which pipes in Wyong?
If your home is on Council’s water and sewer, Central Coast Council’s guide to water and sewer repairs sets out the split for water. Council looks after the water meter and the meter tap. It also looks after the pipes leading to your point of connection. You look after the pipes and fittings on your property from that point, including garden taps, the hot water service and water tanks.
The guide sets out the sewer split too. Council maintains its sewer pipes up to the point of connection. You look after the pipes and fittings inside your property up to and including that point, including the boundary shaft, the overflow gully and the inspection opening.
The guide says the sewer problem may be Council’s responsibility, and to contact Council immediately, if any of these apply:
- The problem shows outside your property boundary.
- Your neighbours have the same problem.
- Your boundary shaft is flooded.
- There’s widespread flooding in your local area.
The guide says Council doesn’t compensate for the cost of a privately obtained licensed plumber, even if the problem is Council’s. Council’s sewer fact sheet says to report a manhole overflow or a blockage in a Council sewer main immediately on 02 4306 7900.
Emergency plumber Wyong: any hour, day or night
A burst pipe at midnight or a toilet overflowing on a Sunday can’t wait for opening hours. Call 1300 164 206 and a licensed plumber answers. Evening and weekend rates differ, and you get the price before we start. Here’s how our emergency plumbing callouts run.
Find your water meter before you need it. If you’re on Council’s water, its guide asks owners to keep the meter easy to reach. That means a clear area of at least 50 centimetres around each side and 120 centimetres above it.
While you wait:
- Turn the water off at the main tap.
- Switch off the power at the switchboard if water has reached power points or lights.
- Open the lowest tap in the house to drain the pipes.
- Lift valuables off the floor, then keep the area clear for the plumber.
Gas fitting and hot water for Wyong households
Moving a gas heater, fitting a new cooktop or adding a bayonet point is licensed gasfitting work. Our gas fitting service covers new connections, appliance swaps and pressure testing.
A storage hot water unit keeps a tank of heated water ready. An instantaneous unit heats water as it flows through. Both come in gas and electric versions.
Central Coast Council says many properties within the Central Coast have been identified by the NSW Rural Fire Service as bushfire prone. If your block is on bush fire prone land and you’re building, the RFS says any above-ground water and gas pipes need to be made of metal.
If you smell gas, get everyone out and don’t touch switches or appliances. Call us from outside, at any hour.

Do I need approval for plumbing work in Wyong?
Central Coast Council’s plumbing and drainage page says on-site plumbing works in the Central Coast region require an inspection by Council. At least two days before starting, the plumber must give Council a notice of work.
A Certificate of Compliance is the record that the finished work complies with the plumbing regulations and the Plumbing Code of Australia. Council’s page says the plumber must submit it within two days of completing the work, with a copy to Council and the owner. NSW says a Notice of Work isn’t needed for emergency work or minor works, like replacing tap ware.
Plumbing in Wyong’s houses, townhouses and flats
The NSW Electoral Commission lists Wyong among the localities that Central Coast Council includes partially or wholly. The 2021 Census counted 1,874 occupied homes here.

In 2021, 751 homes were rented (40.1%). Council’s guide puts the pipes and fittings on the property with the property owner.
If your home is in a strata scheme, NSW strata repair rules say the owners corporation repairs common property and owners repair anything in their own property. In most cases the owner looks after plumbing in internal walls and fixtures, such as baths, toilets, sinks and showers. The owners corporation looks after plumbing in boundary walls and under the floor.
Plumber Wyong: who looks after which pipe?
| Part of the system, if you’re on Council’s water and sewer | Who looks after it | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Water meter, meter tap and pipes up to your point of connection | Central Coast Council | Keep the meter clear and protect it from damage. Contact Council if the meter or meter tap is leaking. |
| Sewer pipes up to your point of connection | Central Coast Council | Report a manhole overflow or a blocked Council main to Council. |
| Taps, hot water service, tanks, boundary shaft and overflow gully | The property owner | Engage a licensed plumber. |
Council’s guide says stormwater is a separate system from sewer, and that all stormwater must be connected to the stormwater system. It says illegal connections into sewer can overload it in heavy or prolonged rainfall. Council’s stormwater page says private inter-allotment easements are the responsibility of the property owners they burden or benefit.
We also take jobs in Tuggerah, Tacoma, Erina and Springfield. To check your suburb, see where our Central Coast plumbers work.
