Electrician Tacoma
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance wiring by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Tacoma homes, day or night
A power point that sparks or a switch that keeps tripping needs a licensed electrician in Tacoma. Our electrician Tacoma team takes calls at any hour.
We price each job before work starts, and the figure is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so we give you the price for your visit first.
What electrical faults turn up in Tacoma homes?
The 2021 Census counted 206 separate houses among Tacoma’s 207 occupied homes, and 102 homes with four or more bedrooms.
A switchboard is the panel that splits incoming power into circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a split second when current leaks to earth. When one keeps tripping, there’s a fault on a circuit. We use fault tracing for repeat trips to find it instead of just resetting the switch.
Some boards still have ceramic fuses, or no safety switch on the power and lighting circuits. A board like that needs a closer look before a new circuit goes on. We quote a switchboard repair as one fixed price.
Signs a board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again soon after you reset it
- Lights that dim when the oven or a heater starts
- A panel that’s warm to the touch or smells burnt
- Ceramic fuses, or no safety switch on a circuit
Lighting, fans and appliances for Tacoma households
An induction cooktop or a wall oven runs on a circuit of its own, and an older board needs work before it can take one. We do oven and cooktop wiring from the board to the appliance.
Old halogen downlights run hot and draw more power than LEDs. Swapping them for LED downlight upgrades cuts the load on the lighting circuit. A ceiling fan needs a secure fixing and a circuit that can run it.
Outdoor lights and power points need weatherproof fittings and a safety switch on their circuit. We also fit and replace smoke alarms.
Emergency electrician Tacoma: call at any hour
No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset is worth a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and agree the price before work starts. Here’s how our urgent electrical callouts work.
- Check whether your neighbours have power too.
- Look at your board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug the heater or appliance that was running.
- Treat any fallen wire as live and keep well back.
- If the board won’t reset, call us at any hour.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, it looks after the poles and wires in the street. For a fallen or arcing powerline, Ausgrid says to stay at least 8 metres, or two car lengths, away and call 13 13 88, a line open 24 hours.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its installation and service page says a Level 2 accredited service provider can install, repair or maintain the service lines between a customer’s installation and Ausgrid’s network. Those lines can be overhead or underground. We hold that accreditation (number 5559).

From 1 July 2026 it has to go through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal, and paper and PDF forms are no longer accepted. The customer is emailed a copy when their email address is added in the portal.

| Only your home has lost power | Us | Look for a tripped safety switch or main switch. |
