Licensed Tuggerah electricians, on call at any hour
A board that keeps tripping, a dead power point or no power at all needs a licensed electrician in Tuggerah. Our electrician Tuggerah team is on call 24 hours a day.
Every job is priced before work starts. Evening and weekend rates differ, so we give you the price for your visit first.
What electrical faults turn up in Tuggerah homes?
A safety switch is a device that shuts off power when it detects current leaking to earth, for example through a person. A board with no safety switch on the lighting and power circuits is a common reason for an upgrade. A switchboard replacement adds protection to every circuit and leaves room for new loads.
Lights that flicker or a safety switch that keeps tripping call for fault tracing and repair. The aim is to find the circuit and the cause. Resetting the switch isn’t a fix.
A surge protection device is a unit at the switchboard that limits voltage spikes reaching your appliances. Our Tuggerah electricians also do surge protection and test and tag work.
Signs your board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again after you reset it.
- Lights that dim when a heater or air conditioner starts.
- A switchboard that feels warm or smells of burning.
- Power points that are warm, cracked or dead.
Lighting, fans and appliances for Tuggerah households
Swapping old halogen downlights for LED lighting upgrades cuts the running cost of a room. New circuits can go in at the same time.
A wall oven or induction cooktop needs a dedicated circuit. We handle oven and cooktop circuits from the board to the benchtop. An EV charger also needs its own circuit, and an older board may have no room for it.
In summer a ceiling fan moves air through a room. Run in reverse on a low setting, it pushes warm air back down. Our team handles fitting a new ceiling fan in most rooms.

If Ausgrid supplies your home, report fallen or arcing powerlines to Ausgrid on 13 13 88, 24 hours a day. Leaning poles and exposed underground cables go to the same number. Ausgrid says to stay at least 8 metres, or two car lengths, away from fallen wires. Central Coast Council lists the same number for fallen powerlines on its emergency contacts page.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says owners are responsible for the electrical assets on their property beyond its connection point. That includes private power poles, powerlines and pole-top fittings. Ausgrid’s page says a Level 2 accredited service provider (ASP/2) can install, repair or maintain the overhead or underground service lines between a customer installation and Ausgrid’s network. We hold Level 2 accreditation, number 5559.

Do I get a compliance certificate for electrical work in Tuggerah?
Yes, for electrical work in NSW. The NSW Government says electricians must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work whenever electrical work has been undertaken. The person who tests the work submits it, no later than seven days after the test. From 1 July 2026 it has to go through the BCNSW eCert portal.
When your email address is added in the portal, the system sends you a copy once the certificate is lodged. Keep it with the house papers.

Tuggerah homes in the 2021 Census

Most Tuggerah homes are separate houses, and 93 are townhouse-style. In 2021, 136 homes were rented. A rented home still has an owner. If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says owners maintain the poles and powerlines between the first point of connection and the switchboard or meter.
Trees matter here too. If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says owners keep private overhead powerlines free of vegetation. It also says any tree trimming near Ausgrid powerlines must be done by accredited workers. Don’t trim near a wire yourself.
