Electrician Springfield
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Springfield homes, day or night
A safety switch that trips every time the oven goes on is a job for a licensed electrician in Springfield. Our electrician Springfield team takes calls at any hour.
Every job is priced before work starts, and the price is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so we quote your visit first.
What electrical faults do Springfield homes have?
The 2021 Census counted 1,470 separate houses in Springfield. Each house has its own switchboard.
A switchboard is the panel that splits incoming power into circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a split second when current leaks to earth. When one keeps tripping, fault tracing for repeat trips finds the circuit behind it instead of just resetting it.
Some boards still have ceramic fuses. Others have no safety switch on the power and lighting circuits. Either one needs a closer look before a new circuit goes on, and a switchboard upgrade is quoted as a fixed job.
Signs your board needs a look
- A safety switch that trips again after you reset it
- Lights that dim when the oven or a heater starts
- A panel that feels warm or smells burnt
- Ceramic fuses, or no safety switches at all
Electrician Springfield: heating, cooling and lighting
Heaters and air conditioners draw a lot of power. An induction cooktop or a wall oven usually needs a circuit of its own. We handle oven and cooktop installation from the board to the benchtop.
A reverse cycle air conditioner heats and cools from the same unit. It runs on a circuit sized for its load, and the switchboard needs room for that circuit.
Old halogen downlights run hot and draw more than LEDs. Swapping them for LED light fittings cuts the load on the circuit. A new ceiling fan needs a secure fixing and a circuit that can run it.
Outdoor lights and power points need weatherproof fittings and a safety switch on their circuit. We also fit smoke alarms in Springfield homes.
Emergency electrician Springfield: any hour, day or night
No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and agree the price before work starts. Here is how our after-hours electrician callouts run.
- Look at the street. If the neighbours are dark too, the fault is likely outside your home.
- If only your home is dark, check the board for a tripped safety switch.
- Unplug the heater or appliance that was running.
- Stay away from any wire that is down, and treat it as live.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, report a fallen or damaged powerline to Ausgrid on 13 13 88, which is open 24 hours. Ausgrid says to stay at least 8 metres away from fallen wires. If someone has been shocked or is in danger, call triple zero (000) first.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its page says a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider can install, repair or maintain overhead or underground service lines. Those are the lines between a customer installation and its network. We hold Level 2 accreditation (number 5559).

Do I get a certificate after electrical work in Springfield?
NSW says electricians must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work after electrical work. The person who tests the work submits it to Building Commission NSW, no later than seven days after the test. From 1 July 2026 it goes through the BCNSW eCert portal.
The customer is emailed a copy when the electrician adds their email address in the portal. Keep it with the papers for the house.
Electrician Springfield: houses, trees and the power lines

Springfield homes in the 2021 Census
Source: ABS Census QuickStats. The ABS makes small random changes to figures for privacy.
In 2021, 422 Springfield homes were rented, and the Census counted 401 homes owned outright. A rented home still has a switchboard that needs to be safe. Those figures are a 2021 snapshot, not today’s count.
Electrician Springfield: your wires or the network’s?
| What you see | Who deals with it | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| A powerline is down in the street | Ausgrid, if it supplies you: 13 13 88 | Stay at least 8 metres away. |
| A private pole or wire on your block is damaged | The property owner, if Ausgrid supplies you | Hire a licensed contractor. |
| Only your home has lost power | Us | Check for a tripped safety switch or main switch. |
Trees matter too. If Ausgrid supplies you, it says owners must keep private overhead powerlines free of vegetation. It also calls trimming near its powerlines highly dangerous and says accredited workers must do it. Ausgrid says owners are responsible for private poles, powerlines and pole-top fittings beyond its connection point.
Our electricians also work in Erina, Terrigal, Narara and Kincumber. To check your suburb, see where our Central Coast electricians work.
