Electrician Church Point
Fault finding, switchboard repairs, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Church Point homes, any hour
A safety switch that won’t stay on or a power point that’s stopped working needs a licensed electrician in Church Point. Our electrician Church Point team takes calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We agree the price before work starts, and it’s fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so we quote your visit first.
What electrical problems do Church Point homes have?
The 2021 Census counted 386 occupied homes in Church Point, and 224 of them are owned outright. Another 129 are owned with a mortgage, and 27 are rented.
A switchboard is the panel that splits incoming power into separate circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power when current leaks to earth. If one keeps tripping, electrical fault finding tracks down the circuit that’s causing it.
A board that’s full, or still has old fuses, needs a check before another appliance goes on. Upgrading an old switchboard is quoted as a fixed job.
Signs your board needs attention
- Lights that flicker when a big appliance starts
- A burning smell near the board
- A safety switch that trips again straight after a reset
- Fuses that blow, or a board with no safety switches
Outdoor power, lighting and appliances at Church Point
Northern Beaches Council says a ferry service and water taxis operate from Church Point. Ausgrid says to look out for powerlines when moving sailing boats or using ladders.
Ausgrid also says not to use extension cables outdoors except with an appliance, and not to leave extension cords outdoors permanently. NSW says any electrical wiring work must be done by, or under the supervision of, a licensed electrician, so a fixed outdoor power point is a job for one.
Garden and path lights are wiring work too. Our LED lighting upgrades cover indoor and outdoor fittings. Outdoor power points and lights need weatherproof fittings and a safety switch on their circuit. Press the test button on each safety switch a couple of times a year.
Emergency electrician Church Point: any hour, day or night
Sparks, a burning smell or a board that won’t reset can’t wait. Call 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and quote the price before work starts. Here’s how our emergency electrician service works.
Ausgrid says storms and strong winds can bring down powerlines. Fallen trees and vegetation around damaged network equipment can also hide electrical hazards, so keep at least 8 metres, or two car lengths, away from fallen wires or powerlines.
Report it to Ausgrid on 13 13 88, which is staffed 24 hours. In a life-threatening situation, call triple zero first.
While you wait for us:
- Check the board for a tripped safety switch.
- Switch off and unplug whatever was running when the fault happened.
- Keep clear of wet floors near power points and cords.
- If you see smoke or flames, leave and call triple zero.

What paperwork follows electrical work in Church Point?
NSW says the person who carries out the electrical test submits a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. It’s due as soon as practical, and no later than seven days after the test.
From 1 July 2026 it goes through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal, and paper or PDF forms are no longer accepted. The portal emails the customer a copy when the electrician adds their email address, so give yours. NSW says the certificate shows the work has been tested and complies with the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017, its Regulation and relevant Australian Standards. Keep your copy with the house papers.
Electrician Church Point: the network, the homes and the outdoors
Ausgrid publishes a postcode checker that shows which distribution network your address is in. If Ausgrid is your network, report street-side faults and fallen lines to it.
Ausgrid calls a Level 2 accredited service provider an ASP/2. It says one can install, repair or maintain the overhead or underground service lines between a customer installation and its network. Our Level 2 number is 5559, and you can read about Level 2 electrician work here.
