Electrician Brookvale
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, appliance circuits and EV chargers for Brookvale units, homes and businesses, by licensed local electricians.
A licensed electrician for Brookvale units and workplaces, day or night
A dead power point, a safety switch that keeps tripping or a unit with no lights needs a licensed electrician in Brookvale. Our electrician Brookvale team takes calls at any hour.
We agree the price before work starts, and it’s fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so you hear the price for your visit first.
We also work for Brookvale businesses. That includes board upgrades, surge protection and testing and tagging.
What electrical faults turn up in Brookvale flats and houses?
The 2021 Census counted 625 rented homes among Brookvale’s 1,407 occupied homes. For a rental, the NSW Government lists a dangerous electrical fault as an urgent repair, and the tenant tells the landlord or agent straight away.
A switchboard is the panel that splits the incoming power into circuits. A safety switch is a device that cuts power when current leaks to earth. When one trips again after a reset, our fault finding service looks for the circuit behind it. A reset alone only hides the problem.
A board with old fuses, or no safety switch on the power and lighting circuits, needs a look before anything new is added. A switchboard replacement is quoted before the work starts.
Signs a unit’s board needs attention
- A fuse that blows more than once a month
- A buzzing or crackling sound near the board
- A power point that’s warm to touch or marked by scorching
- A safety switch that trips whenever the oven and dryer run together
Lighting, appliances and EV charging for Brookvale apartments
Lights show how strata splits the work. The NSW Government’s strata repairs guide puts lights that hang into your unit with the owner. Lights on common property and lights recessed into the ceiling are the owners corporation’s.
A new induction cooktop, wall oven or reverse cycle air conditioner needs its own circuit in most homes. A full board needs work first. We do appliance circuit installation.
A ceiling fan needs a firm fixing and a circuit that can carry it. We also do ceiling fan fitting.
For an EV charger in a strata building, owners must ask the owners corporation for approval first, says the NSW Government. Tenants go through their landlord. After that, our EV charger installers can fit the charger.
Emergency electrician Brookvale: any hour, day or night
Sparks, a burning smell or a board that won’t reset can’t wait for morning. Call 1300 164 206 at any hour. We take calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and quote the price before work starts. Here’s how our urgent electrical callouts work.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, its outage page says to look out the window and check your street. If your neighbours have power but you don’t, the problem might be inside your home. If you’re without power and it isn’t already on Ausgrid’s outage map, report it to Ausgrid.
While you wait:
- Check the board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Switch off and unplug sensitive equipment to protect it from surges.
- Never connect a generator to the house switchboard or wiring.
- Treat any fallen line as live and stay back.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says to stay at least 8 metres from fallen powerlines, and to report faults on 13 13 88, which is available 24 hours. For an electric shock or a life-threatening situation, call triple zero first.
Ausgrid says a Level 2 accredited service provider can install, repair or maintain service lines between a customer’s installation and its network. We hold Level 2 accreditation, number 5559.

Do I get a certificate after electrical work in Brookvale?
Yes. The NSW Government says electricians must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work whenever electrical work has been done. The person who tests the work submits it to Building Commission NSW, no later than seven days after the test.
From 1 July 2026 it goes through the eCert portal, and handwritten and PDF forms are no longer accepted. The customer receives a copy by email when their address is added to the certificate.
If an installation has been de-energised for six months or more, the NSW Government says a qualified electrician must do a safety inspection before it is re-energised remotely. The customer provides a copy of that inspection certificate to their electricity retailer.
Electrician Brookvale: tenants, owners and the network
Ausgrid’s network covers Sydney, the Central Coast and the Hunter Valley. Its website has a postcode checker. If Ausgrid supplies your home, the owner looks after the poles and powerlines from the first point of connection to the switchboard or meter.
The NSW Electoral Commission lists Brookvale as a locality of Northern Beaches Council. The council’s Brookvale Precinct page cites 86 hectares of industrial land. We also work on commercial premises in Brookvale.

If your flat is in a strata scheme, the owners corporation looks after common property. The NSW Government says to check your strata plan and by-laws to see what counts as common property. The 625 rented homes add a landlord or agent to the call.

Electrician Brookvale FAQs
Prices depend on the fault, the wiring and the parts, so we quote each job before starting. The price is fixed once you approve it, and quotes are free. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates.
A licensed electrician looks at the fault and gives you a fixed price before any work begins. If something changes the job, we stop and talk it through first. No call-out fee applies when the booking is for the following day or later.
It depends on the light. The NSW Government says lights on common property and lights recessed into the ceiling belong to the owners corporation, while lights that hang into your lot belong to the owner.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, report outages and fallen lines to Ausgrid on 13 13 88, which is staffed 24 hours. If your neighbours have power and you don’t, the fault might be inside your home, and we can trace it.
