Electrician Curl Curl
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, lighting and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
Licensed electricians for Curl Curl homes, at any hour
A power point that’s gone dead, lights that dim when the oven starts or a switchboard that smells hot needs a licensed electrician in Curl Curl. Our electrician Curl Curl team takes calls 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
You’ll hear the price before any work starts, and it’s fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so we quote your visit first.
What electrical faults turn up in Curl Curl homes?
The 2021 Census counted 742 occupied homes in Curl Curl. Of those, 294 are owned with a mortgage, 274 are owned outright and 165 are rented.
A switchboard is the panel that feeds each circuit in the house. A safety switch is a device that shuts the power off the moment current leaks to earth. A switch that trips again after a reset points to a fault on one circuit. Tracing the faulty circuit is the fix, not another reset.
If your board still has ceramic fuses, or has no safety switch on the lighting and power circuits, get it checked before you add a new load. Our switchboard repairs and upgrades are quoted as a fixed job.
Signs your board needs a look
- A power point that feels warm or looks discoloured.
- A buzzing or crackling sound from the panel.
- Lights that flicker when a large appliance starts.
- Ceramic fuses where breakers should be.
Fans, lighting and appliance circuits for Curl Curl homes
A ceiling fan needs a solid fixing and a circuit that can carry it. See our ceiling fan fitting service. Swapping halogen downlights for LEDs also lowers the load on a lighting circuit.
An induction cooktop, a wall oven or a reverse cycle air conditioner needs its own circuit in most homes. If the board is full, it needs work first. We run appliance circuit installation from the board to the appliance.
In a strata building, the NSW Government says that in most cases lights that hang into your property are the owner’s job. Lights recessed into the ceiling, and lights on common property, belong to the owners corporation. If it’s unclear, check your strata plan and by-laws.
Emergency electrician Curl Curl: call any hour, day or night
A burning smell, sparks from a power point or a board that won’t reset is worth a call straight away on 1300 164 206. We answer at any hour, and you hear the price before work starts.
Ausgrid’s outage advice says that if your neighbours have power but you don’t, the problem might be inside your home. If the whole street is dark, report it to your network operator, which is Ausgrid if it supplies your home.
While you wait:
- Ask a neighbour whether their power is on.
- Check the board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug sensitive gear like TVs and computers, which Ausgrid says protects them from surges.
- Treat any fallen line as live and keep clear.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says to stay at least 8 metres, or two car lengths, from fallen wires. Report electrical faults and emergencies to Ausgrid on 13 13 88, which it staffs 24 hours. In a life-threatening situation, call triple zero first.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, it says a Level 2 accredited service provider can install, repair or maintain service lines between a customer installation and its network. We hold Level 2 accreditation, number 5559. See how our urgent electrical callouts work.

Do I get a compliance certificate after electrical work in Curl Curl?
Yes. NSW says the person who tests the electrical work must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work to Building Commission NSW. That has to happen no later than seven days after the test.
From 1 July 2026, the certificate goes through the BCNSW eCert portal, and paper and PDF forms are no longer accepted. The customer gets an emailed copy when the electrician adds their email address. Keep it with your house papers.
Electrician Curl Curl: owners, tenants, flats and the network
Ausgrid’s own pages say its network covers Sydney, the Central Coast and the Hunter Valley, and they don’t name suburbs. If Ausgrid supplies your home, Ausgrid says you look after the electrical assets on your property beyond its connection point. Ausgrid lists private power poles, powerlines and pole-top fittings among them.
It also says owners keep private overhead powerlines free of vegetation, and that tree trimming near Ausgrid powerlines must be done by accredited workers. A Level 2 electrician is accredited to work on the service line itself.

Of the 742 occupied private dwellings, 165 were rented. For a rental, NSW lists a dangerous electrical fault as an urgent repair. So is a failure of the electricity supply. The tenant tells the landlord or agent straight away.
Electrician Curl Curl: whose job is the fault?
| What you see | Who looks after it | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| Your street is dark and neighbours have no power | Ausgrid (if it supplies your home), on 13 13 88 | Report the outage. |
| A light recessed into a flat’s ceiling | The owners corporation | Ask your strata manager. |
| A light that hangs into your flat | The owner | Call us for the repair. |
| A dangerous electrical fault in a rental | The landlord or agent | The tenant tells them straight away. |
