Licensed electricians for Mosman flats and houses

A breaker that trips whenever the oven and the heater run together needs a licensed electrician in Mosman. Our electrician Mosman team takes calls at any hour.

We price every job before work starts, and the figure is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ, so we quote your visit before we begin.

Why does the power keep tripping in my Mosman home?

Aussie Home Services electrician working on a switchboard

The 2021 Census counted 6,001 flats or apartments among Mosman’s 11,544 occupied homes. Each home has a switchboard, the panel that splits the incoming power into circuits.

A safety switch cuts the power in a split second when current leaks to earth. When one keeps tripping, fault tracing for repeat trips finds the circuit at fault instead of resetting it and hoping.

Some boards still carry ceramic fuses. Others have no safety switch on the power and lighting circuits. A switchboard replacement puts a safety switch on every circuit. It’s quoted as a fixed job.

Signs your board needs attention

  • A breaker that trips again within minutes of a reset.
  • Lights that dim when the oven or heater starts.
  • A warm panel, a crackle or a burnt smell at the board.
  • Ceramic fuses where breakers should be.

Air conditioners, lighting and appliances in Mosman

Ceiling fan

A new air conditioner or induction cooktop wants a circuit of its own. An older board may need work first. We handle oven and cooktop fitting from the board to the appliance. A ceiling fan needs a secure fixing and a circuit that can run it.

The NSW EPA sets the noise times for air conditioners. Their noise shouldn’t be heard in a neighbour’s residential room before 8am or after 11pm on weekends and public holidays. On any other day the times are before 7am and after 11pm. The EPA says no restriction applies during a severe or extreme heatwave, as warned by the Bureau of Meteorology.

Halogen downlights run hot and draw more power than LEDs. Swapping them for LED lighting upgrades cuts the load on the circuit. Outdoor lights and power points need weatherproof fittings and a safety switch on their circuit. We also fit smoke alarms in Mosman homes.

Emergency electrician Mosman: any hour, day or night

No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and quote the price before work starts.

  • Look at the street. If the neighbours’ lights are off too, report it to the network.
  • If only your home is dark, check the board for a tripped safety switch.
  • Unplug the appliance that was running.
  • Treat any fallen wire as live, and stay well clear of it.

If Ausgrid supplies your home, report faults to Ausgrid on 13 13 88. It lists that line as open 24 hours. For a life-threatening situation, call triple zero 000.

Ausgrid says to stay at least 8 metres, or 2 car lengths, away from fallen wires. Its page on fallen powerlines adds that fallen trees and vegetation around damaged equipment can hide electrical hazards.

Ausgrid says a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider can install, repair or maintain the overhead or underground service lines between a customer installation and its network. We hold Level 2 accreditation, number 5559.

Do I get a certificate for electrical work in Mosman?

Yes. NSW says the person who carries out the electrical test must submit a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. It’s due as soon as practical, and no later than seven days after the test. From 1 July 2026 it must go through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal.

The system sends the customer a copy when the electrician adds the customer’s email address. Keep it with your records for the home. NSW also says the certificate can help a customer with warranty claims on the electrical article that was installed.

I had a great experience with Aussie Services, especially with Luke, who came out to fix a blocked drain at my property. Luke was extremely professional, friendly and approachable. He took the time to explain the cause of the blockage, clearly explained what needed to be done, and resolved the issue efficiently. I really appreciated his knowledge, honesty and willingness to help. It's refreshing to deal with someone who genuinely takes pride in their work and provides excellent customer service. Highly recommend Luke and Aussie Services. I'll definitely use their services again in the future!

Very happy with the plumbing work done by Luke and his team. It was a big job but it was carried out with minimal disruption to the household, and the yard. Luke was always good in explaining how the job was progressing, and importantly when we had windows of opportunity to use the sewerage system during the day. They finished the job in a timely manner, and cleaned up afterwards. Happy to recommend this company.

Called and booked for Monday, given between 8 and 12pm for a possible gas leak. Chris showed up 1 minute after he called as he was just around the corner. Chris was polite, informative and professional. Checked all my appliances, one by one and the main meter. Lucky there was no leak and it was a billing issue. Better to be safe than sorry. Also as a first time customer received a discount which was nice as I saw on line if you mention it they knock it off the total price. Zero call out fee and all work quoted up front fixed price. Would highly recommend Aussie Home Services. Its hard yo find great trades these days and Chris fits the bill! Thank you.
