Electrician Warrawee
Fault finding, switchboard upgrades, smoke alarms and appliance circuits, done by licensed local electricians who answer day or night.
A licensed electrician for Warrawee homes, day or night
A safety switch that keeps dropping out or lights that dim when the oven starts are jobs for a licensed electrician in Warrawee. Our electrician Warrawee team takes calls at any hour.
You get the price before work starts, and it’s fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ from daytime rates, so we quote your visit first.
Why do the lights flicker or the safety switch trip in Warrawee?
Warrawee has 675 separate houses among its 1,057 occupied homes, says the 2021 Census. A separate house has a switchboard of its own. It’s the panel that splits the power into circuits.
A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a split second when current leaks to earth. One that trips again and again is telling you a circuit or an appliance has a fault. Finding the fault means tracing that circuit, not resetting the switch.
Ceramic fuses, or a board with no safety switch on the power and lighting circuits, need a look before anything new goes on. A switchboard upgrade is quoted as a fixed job.
Signs the board needs attention
- A safety switch that trips again within minutes
- Lights that dim or flicker when a heater or oven starts
- A switchboard that feels warm or smells burnt
- Ceramic fuses where breakers should be
Warrawee kitchens and living rooms: circuits for ovens, lights and fans
A wall oven or an induction cooktop runs on a circuit of its own. If the board is full, it needs work before the new appliance goes in. We handle cooktop and oven installation from the board to the benchtop.
Old halogen downlights draw more power than LEDs, and swapping them lightens the load on a lighting circuit. A ceiling fan needs a firm fixing and a circuit that can run it. Outdoor lights and power points need weatherproof fittings and a safety switch.
Interconnected smoke alarms are linked, so when one sounds they all do. Our smoke alarm installation covers houses and units in Warrawee.
Emergency electrician Warrawee: any hour, day or night
No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call on 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and quote the price before work starts.
- Look along the street to see whether the neighbours have power.
- If only your home is dark, check the board for a tripped safety switch or main switch.
- Unplug the appliance that was running.
- Treat any wire on the ground as live, and keep well back.
If Ausgrid supplies your home, report faults and emergencies to it on 13 13 88, which it lists as 24 hours. For a life-threatening situation, call triple zero (000). Ausgrid says to stay at least 8 metres, or 2 car lengths, away from fallen wires.
Ausgrid says a Level 2 Authorised and Accredited Service Provider can install, repair or maintain the service lines between a customer installation and its network. We hold Level 2 accreditation, number 5559.
Ausgrid also says owners look after electrical assets on their property beyond its connection point. That includes private poles, powerlines and pole-top fittings. Not sure who supplies your street? Its postcode checker names the distributor.

NSW requires a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. The person who tests the work submits it to Building Commission NSW, no later than seven days after the test.
From 1 July 2026 it must go through the BCNSW eCert portal. The customer is emailed a copy when their email address is added to the certificate. Keep it with your house papers.

In 2021, 197 Warrawee homes were rented. NSW says a landlord must have working smoke alarms and can’t hand that duty to the tenant. A dead battery counts as not working.
Electrician Warrawee: whose problem is the outage?
| What you see | Who to call | What to do first |
|---|---|---|
| The whole street is dark | Ausgrid, if it supplies your street: 13 13 88 | Report the fault and check the neighbours. |
| Only your home has lost power | Us | Look for a tripped safety switch or main switch. |
| A wire is down | Ausgrid if it supplies you (13 13 88), or 000 if life is at risk | Stay at least 8 metres away. |
| A burnt smell comes from the board | Us, straight away | Switch off what you can and keep clear. |
Two sets of rules can apply to trees near wires. Ausgrid says trimming within three metres of its powerlines must be done by accredited workers. Ku-ring-gai Council says tree work needs an application where no exemption applies. That includes a property in a Heritage Conservation Area.
