Electricians for Roseville houses and apartments, day or night

A safety switch that trips every time the oven goes on needs a licensed electrician in Roseville. Our electrician Roseville team takes calls at any hour. We work on houses and apartments alike.

We price every job before work starts, and the figure is fixed once you approve it. Evening and weekend rates differ, so we quote your visit before we begin. Quotes are free.

What electrical problems do Roseville homes run into?

Aussie Home Services electrician working on a switchboard

The 2021 Census counted 2,376 separate houses and 983 flats or apartments in Roseville. Each home has a switchboard, the panel where incoming power splits into circuits. It holds the breakers and, in a newer board, the safety switches.

A safety switch is a device that cuts power in a split second when current leaks to earth. When one keeps tripping, fault tracing for tripping circuits finds the faulty circuit. Resetting it again and again doesn’t.

A board with ceramic fuses, or no safety switch on the power circuits, is worth having checked before you add a new load. We quote a switchboard replacement as a fixed job.

A circuit breaker is a switch that cuts power when a circuit carries more current than its wiring should. A breaker that trips under a normal load, like the kettle and toaster together, points to an overloaded circuit. A licensed electrician can tell you whether the circuit needs splitting.

Signs your board needs attention

  • A safety switch that trips again within minutes of a reset
  • Lights that dim when the kettle or heater starts
  • A switchboard that feels warm, crackles or smells burnt
  • No safety switches on the board at all

Lighting, fans and appliances for Roseville homes

Ceiling fan

Swapping old halogen downlights for LED lighting upgrades cuts the running cost and the load on the circuit. Like every other job, it’s quoted before we start.

A new ceiling fan needs a firm fixing. It also needs a circuit that can run it. We handle ceiling fan fitting.

An induction cooktop or a wall oven needs a circuit of its own, and the board needs to cope with it first. We do oven and cooktop installation from the board to the appliance.

We also fit smoke alarms in Roseville homes.

Emergency electrician Roseville: any hour, day or night

No power, sparks or a board that won’t reset deserves a call to 1300 164 206. We answer 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and quote the price before work starts. Here’s how our emergency electrician callouts work.

  • Check the street. If your neighbours have power and you don’t, Ausgrid says the problem might be inside your home.
  • Look at your board for a tripped safety switch.
  • Unplug the heater or appliance that was running.
  • Stay at least 8 metres, or two car lengths, from any fallen wire. Don’t touch it.

If Ausgrid supplies your home, report faults and fallen powerlines to Ausgrid on 13 13 88, available 24 hours. In a life-threatening situation, call triple zero (000).

Ausgrid says an Authorised and Accredited Service Provider Level 2 can install, repair or maintain the overhead or underground service lines between a customer installation and Ausgrid’s network. We hold Level 2 accreditation, number 5559. Read more about Level 2 electrical work.

Do I get a compliance certificate for electrical work in Roseville?

NSW says a licensed electrician must do any electrical wiring work, or supervise it. The person who does the electrical test submits a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work. That’s due no later than seven days after the test.

From 1 July 2026 it has to go through the Building Commission NSW eCert portal, and paper and PDF forms are no longer accepted. The customer is emailed a copy when their email address is added. Keep it with the house papers.

The census counts 983 flats or apartments, and strata rules apply to them. The NSW Government says the owners corporation looks after common property, and owners repair anything in their own property. Tenants should ask their landlord.

If the work is yours and involves electrical wiring, NSW says a licensed electrician must do it. Your strata plan and by-laws settle anything unclear.

If Ausgrid supplies your street, it looks after its network in the street. From the first point of connection on the property, the wiring is the customer’s electrical installation. If a tenant gets a defect notice from Ausgrid, Ausgrid says to forward it to the owner or landlord.

Our electricians also work in Chatswood, Killara and Willoughby. Our electricians in the North Shore cover the rest of the region too.

I had a great experience with Aussie Services, especially with Luke, who came out to fix a blocked drain at my property. Luke was extremely professional, friendly and approachable. He took the time to explain the cause of the blockage, clearly explained what needed to be done, and resolved the issue efficiently. I really appreciated his knowledge, honesty and willingness to help. It's refreshing to deal with someone who genuinely takes pride in their work and provides excellent customer service. Highly recommend Luke and Aussie Services. I'll definitely use their services again in the future!

Very happy with the plumbing work done by Luke and his team. It was a big job but it was carried out with minimal disruption to the household, and the yard. Luke was always good in explaining how the job was progressing, and importantly when we had windows of opportunity to use the sewerage system during the day. They finished the job in a timely manner, and cleaned up afterwards. Happy to recommend this company.

Called and booked for Monday, given between 8 and 12pm for a possible gas leak. Chris showed up 1 minute after he called as he was just around the corner. Chris was polite, informative and professional. Checked all my appliances, one by one and the main meter. Lucky there was no leak and it was a billing issue. Better to be safe than sorry. Also as a first time customer received a discount which was nice as I saw on line if you mention it they knock it off the total price. Zero call out fee and all work quoted up front fixed price. Would highly recommend Aussie Home Services. Its hard yo find great trades these days and Chris fits the bill! Thank you.
